Triggers

For workflow admins in the workflow editor page

There are 2 types of triggers available:

  • Manual trigger
  • Automatic trigger

In addition, you can request data to be provided using a Form, which is compatible for both manual and automatic triggers.

The manual trigger can be used by members listed in authorized initiators.

If the list of authorized initiators is empty, it means that all members in the workspace can start a run from this workflow.

To start a run with a manual trigger, the authorized initiator must click on Start Run in the Runs page or from the red button in the menu.

The automatic trigger is used by a 3rd party application or by another workflow in Geeers.

In the latter case, workflows must be connected together.

To connect workflow A with workflow B:

  1. Admin of workflow B must enable the automatic trigger.
  2. Admin of workflow B must communicate the token to the admin of workflow A.
  3. Admin of workflow A must insert an action Workflow Hook in the workflow A, and use the token in the action settings.

Whenever a run of workflow A reaches the Workflow Hook action, a run of workflow B starts automatically.
